Overview
Core Concepts Inc. is a Whitinsville, MA based design/build firm specializing in custom hospitality and retail solutions. We design and manufacture high quality, modular point-of-purchase displays, carts, kiosks, cafes, and convenience stores. The core strength of our company is the complete integration of design, engineering, project management, manufacturing and implementation. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Spray Finisher to join our production team. This role focuses on high-quality finishing of custom millwork and metal components for commercial and architectural projects. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is comfortable working with a variety of finishes and substrates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare wood and metal surfaces for finishing (sanding, cleaning, masking, priming)
- Spray apply finishes including stains, lacquers, conversion varnishes, polyurethanes, and paints
- Finish custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and architectural metal parts to specification
- Match colors, sheens, and textures per shop drawings or samples
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, booths, and finishing tools
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and defects
- Perform touch-ups and rework as needed
- Follow all safety, environmental, and shop procedures
- Coordinate with fabrication and project teams to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional spray finishing experience (commercial or custom shop preferred)
- Experience finishing both wood/millwork and metal parts
- Strong knowledge of spray techniques, materials, and curing processes
- Ability to read shop drawings, finish schedules, and work orders
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with high-end architectural or commercial interiors
- Color matching and custom finish development
- Familiarity with water-based and solvent-based finishes
- Experience working in a production or job-shop environment
