Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position involves working in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and specialized departments such as dermatology and pediatrics. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a compassionate environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting information accurately.
- Manage patient flow within the clinic or department, ensuring timely service delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians in a Level II Trauma Center environment to provide comprehensive care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills related to internal medicine, outpatient care, PICU, OR procedures, and other specialties as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification or diploma in Medical Assisting from an accredited program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable; familiarity with internal medicine or dermatology is a plus.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications related to specific departments (e.g., PICU) are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems for patient documentation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
