Job Summary
Western Horizons Living Centers is seeking a dedicated LPN to serve as Charge Nurse for a shift at our skilled nursing facility. This role supervises nursing activities at the nursing station each shift, ensures resident care plans are followed, and provides direct clinical oversight, medication administration, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee resident care and safety during your assigned shift, including monitoring for significant changes in condition
- Prepare and administer medications and treatments, including injections, and chart per facility procedure
- Supervise and delegate to CNAs and resident-care staff, checking work to ensure assignments are completed
- Communicate with physicians, the Director of Nursing, and MDS Coordinators on resident status and care needs
- Cover shift staffing gaps and call-ins; support orientation and training of nursing personnel
- Maintain accurate charting, treatment records, and controlled substance documentation
- Complete incident reports and notify family, physician, and consultants of order changes
- Report suspected resident abuse immediately; monitor labs and notify appropriate staff of abnormal results
- Current LPN license in North Dakota
- Graduate of a state-approved practical/vocational nursing program
- Long-term care experience preferred; on-site training provided
