DESCRIPTION
A Medical Assistant is a position focused on medication administration for individuals with disabilities. Dedicated to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals through accurate medication dispensing, documentation, and monitoring as delegated by an agency RN trainer. This person is committed to promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life while working collaboratively with healthcare teams, caregivers, and support staff in a person-centered care environment.
As the medical assistant you will ensure compliance with all HIPAA & confidentiality requirements. Complete all mandatory documentation accurately, honestly, and on time. Attend medication administration training and then follow all rules and regulations. Accurately administer prescribed medications according to physician orders & organizational policies. Ensuring proper dosage & timing. Prepare medications for administration. Ensuring safe storage of medications according to regulatory guidelines. Assures that medical cart is appropriately stocked and properly attended to and secured/locked when not in use.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have a valid High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or medical office preferred
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant certification program with current certification preferred.

Operates general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer
