Overview
PHEMS Trucking LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Freight Dispatch & Operations Coordinator to support daily transportation and logistics activities. This role is responsible for coordinating freight movements, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring efficient delivery operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced trucking environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch freight loads using transportation management systems and load boards
- Communicate with drivers, brokers, shippers, and customers regarding shipment schedules and delivery updates
- Monitor load progress and ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance
- Resolve transportation issues, delays, and service concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, rate confirmations, and operational documents
- Assist with route planning, scheduling, and load optimization activities
- Prepare operational reports and track key performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service and support daily logistics operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, dispatching, or freight coordination preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, and transportation software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DAT Load Board, Truckstop, TMS software, and ELD systems
- Knowledge of trucking operations, freight brokerage, and carrier management
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Russian) is a plus
