The Dietary Aide plays an important role in enhancing the dining experience and overall well-being of the residents we serve. This position provides excellent customer service while assisting with meal service, food preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary dining environment. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and health and safety standards to ensure high-quality service and resident satisfaction.

Assist with the preparation of meals and beverages.
Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Operate the dishwashing machine safely and efficiently.
Inspect clean dishes and utensils to ensure they meet cleanliness standards.
Store dishes, utensils, and supplies in their designated areas.
Help prepare meal carts and deliver meals while creating a positive dining experience for residents.
Properly label, bag, and store food items according to department guidelines.
Dispose of waste and recyclables following established sanitation and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times.
Ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are cleaned and stored properly after use.
Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, and supply shortages promptly to the supervisor.
Immediately report safety concerns, accidents, incidents, or hazardous conditions to the Dietary Supervisor.
Build positive relationships by communicating respectfully and professionally with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
Participate in required training, in-services, and team meetings to support continuous learning and quality care.
This position is based in a healthcare setting where teamwork and resident care are at the heart of everything we do. Dietary Aides stay active throughout the day, regularly walking throughout the facility and pushing or pulling meal carts to support resident dining services. Most work is performed in the dietary department, where temperatures may vary from the warmth of the kitchen to the cooler conditions of walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
This is an active role that requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the shift. The position also requires regular communication with residents, team members, and supervisors. Employees must be able to safely lift, carry, and move items weighing 20 pounds or more as needed.
This is a full-time position in a healthcare facility that provides care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The typical schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., five days per week, including every other weekend and some holidays to help meet the needs of our residents.
