Duties
- Lead and manage the housekeeping team to ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, protocols, and quality control procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee daily cleaning operations across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and special facilities such as kitchens or event spaces
- Train staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment including industrial cleaning tools and floor care machinery
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor cleanliness levels, address deficiencies promptly, and uphold health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs or improvements needed in housekeeping areas or equipment
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and janitorial equipment to ensure smooth operational flow
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial supervision within hospitality environments
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care methods, and industrial cleaning equipment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of janitorial staff
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards, health regulations, and safety protocols
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under pressure
- Effective communication skills for training staff and coordinating with other departments
- Background in housekeeper training programs or certifications related to custodial or industrial cleaning is a plus
