Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wood Sander to join our dynamic team in our Finish Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your sanding expertise in commercial custom cabinetry finish department.
Job Duties:
- Use orbital hand sander to sand wood materials
- Select proper grade of sandpaper as needed
- Hand sand when necessary
- Trim, scrape, and deburr when needed
- Fill imperfections and cracks with putty or epoxy
- Mark defects on product
- Transfer product with carts or dollies
- Check work product for quality before and after sanding
- Record product and processing data
Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of an orbital sander
- Knowledge of sanding techniques and sandpaper grades
- Ability to spot defects and make repairs
- Knowledge of wood characteristics
- Ability to use small hand tools
- Must have strong attention to detail
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stoop and stand on feet for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled work area.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
