Established small privately owned veterinary hospital is looking for an energetic, reliable, "self-starting/independent working", honest person with reliable transportation who loves and feels comfortable working with dogs, cats, birds, and small exotics for part time/split shifts and weekends, holidays required. The job entails a lot of cleaning- hospital, runs, cages, laundry, sinks, bathrooms, and feeding, cleaning up after and taking care of animals that are boarding or hospitalized. Experience with animals preferred. Serious enquiries only please. Experience working with birds and small exotics is not required, but will need to learn. This position definitely includes weekends Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Holidays with split shifts (about 2 hours am and 2 hours pm)
Summary
We are seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate team at Best Friends Veterinary Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including but not limited to feeding, cleaning the enclosures and clinic, Laundry sweeping and moping
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area to ensure a safe environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Requirements
- Experience in animal care or working in a kennel is preferred.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and active work with animals.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary practices is a plus.
