Position Overview
Gold Tech Industries is seeking a skilled Deburr Technician/Polisher to join our manufacturing team in Tempe, AZ. This role is responsible for preparing and finishing precision metal parts to meet cosmetic and dimensional requirements prior to and after nickel and gold plating. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with polishing equipment, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Polish, buff, and finish metal components to required critical mirror surface finishes using manual and mechanical methods
- Operate equipment such as buffing wheels, belt sanders, grinders, and vibratory tumblers
- Prepare parts for plating processes, including deburring, and polishing to mirror-finish as required
- Inspect parts for surface defects such as scratches, pits, or inconsistencies
- Verify finished parts meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Maintain polishing equipment, including routine cleaning and minor maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and use of PPE
- Document work completed and report quality or equipment issues to supervisors
- Work collaboratively with plating, quality, and production teams to meet production goals
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in metal polishing, finishing, plating, or related manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking
- Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a plating environment (nickel, gold, or similar processes)
- Familiarity with surface finish standards
- Experience working in regulated or quality-driven environments (ISO or similar)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity for handling small or delicate parts
- Ability to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, face shields, and respirators as needed
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / shop environment with exposure to noise and polishing compounds.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
