Job Description
The Estimator plays a critical role in the bidding and preconstruction process. This position is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, coordinating subcontractor participation, and supporting the Estimating Manager and Project Managers in preparing competitive proposals. The Estimator ensures that bids are thorough, accurate, and aligned with client requirements while maintaining strong subcontractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Estimating Manager and Project Managers to review project scopes and bid strategies.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for all trades.
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and bid packages that meet client requirements.
- Review Bogart proposals with the client.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
- Solicit, track, and maintain subcontractor and vendor participation across all trades.
- Prepare and distribute Invitations to Bid and follow up with subcontractors prior to deadlines.
- Maintain and update the master subcontractor database.
- Respond to subcontractor inquiries and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Organize bid documents and maintain accurate records for each project.
- Support in-house estimates when subcontractor coverage is insufficient.
- Schedule and attend pre-bid job walks with subcontractors and vendors.

Specific Requirements:
- ·Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction (retail experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with estimating and take-off software (Building Connected, Blue Beam, Smart Contractor, B2W Estimate, Procore, Clear Estimates, or equivalent).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, lease exhibits, and landlord requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with internal teams and subcontractors.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated with a strong sense of accountability
- Ability to work from the main office 4 days a week and attend weekly staff meetings on Monday.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
