Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health) to provide high-quality nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions. The ideal candidate will assess patient needs, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans in a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for behavioral health patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor patients' physical and mental health status and document observations accurately.
- Conduct patient assessments, including suicide risk and behavioral evaluations.
- Develop, update, and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond appropriately to psychiatric and medical emergencies.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Follow all facility policies, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certifications preferred.
- Previous behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
Pay: Up to $59.00 per hour
