Occupational Therapist
Reporting to the K-12 SPED Coordinator, the Occupational Therapist works with the IEP team to assist students in the development of/or compensation for deficits in foundation skills needed for school participation (e.g., fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, visual motor skills, visual perception skills, and self-care skills).

Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, 10-month position. Salaries start at $62,262 and go up based on education and years of certified/licensed experience. Essential Functions:
- Screen, test, and diagnose students per requests via RtI process, other identified processes.
- Develop student IEP for present level of function, including frequency, duration, goals, and objectives.
- Manage and conduct therapy for identified students.
- Work collaboratively with educational support staff where support is needed. Serves on the RtI and other relevant intervention teams.
- Communicate and collaborate with school personnel and parents as needed.
- Adhere to State and Federal regulations.
Plan and oversee the Occupational Language program/process.

Other tasks and duties:
Manage and conduct therapy
- Develops a caseload management model to facilitate efficient and adequate services to students.
- Implements a plan most appropriate to individual student’s needs.
- Implements and maintains therapy schedule and list of students. Maintains up-to-date data and provides reports.
- Provides on-the-spot interventions as necessary to meet the needs of the student in a less restrictive environment.
- Makes recommendations and referrals for audiological / speech / medical services.
Mentors undergraduate interns and paraprofessionals as necessary.

Student Recordkeeping
- Keeps those records necessary to complete the various forms and information required by the school, CSI, or Colorado Department of Education.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
Maintains current records and data in the designated student information system (e.g. Alpine Achievement System).

General Abilities, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
- License in the State of Colorado.
- Bi-Lingual – English / Spanish preferred.
- Previous K-12 school experience preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of community resources and agencies

Working Conditions:
Exposure/Noise Level: Occasional exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Normal school environment with moderate to high noise level.
Mental Functions: Analyze, collaboration, communicate, compare, compilation of data, compute, coordinate, copy, direct, evaluate, instruct, interpersonal skills, present, report, synthesize.
Physical Activities: Office and classroom environment including computer interface. Bend, reach, sit, stand, stoop, talk, walk, and heavy person-to-person interaction with students and colleagues.
Weight and Force Demands : Moderate physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25 pounds).
Other: May be required to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work related functions.
