Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Roadway) to join our Transportation team in Houston, TX in Summer 2027, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world transportation engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of highway/roadway design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software.
Project opportunities may include supporting the design of interstate highways, freeway interchanges, and major arterial roads. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into transportation engineering.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist in basic highway/roadway geometric design calculations
- Help prepare technical reports and design documentation
- Utilizing CADD to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedures
- Familiarize with local, state, and federal design standards and requirements
