Job description
An Assisted Living Community is looking to hire a Cook for our Dining Services Department.
Responsibilities
- Assist Dining Director/Chef in preparation of a wide variety of scratch cooking menu items.
- Able to follow standardized recipes.
- Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Consistently maintains standards of quality, presentation, and flavor of foods.
- Works closely with team members, caregivers, dietary aides, dishwashers, management
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare setting strongly desired.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
- Must be dependable.
- Shifts are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (6a-6p) and Wednesday (6a-12p)
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must successfully pass AHCA level 2 background check and drug screening.
- Medical, Dental, Vision insurance is offered beginning after 60 days.
Job includes cooking/serving/plating 3 meals a day for residents in dining room and preparing daily snacks. Menu has been created by a registered dietitian and is to be followed (substitutions can occur) which provides 2 feature entrees at every mealtime (8am,12pm,5pm) and an "always available" menu selection.
Previous cooking experience in healthcare setting preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
