Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals while managing multiple stops throughout the day
- Load and unload merchandise with proper techniques, demonstrating heavy lifting skills and organizational prowess
- Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and building rapport to enhance customer satisfaction
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to maximize customer value
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance records in accordance with company policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles, with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type used
- Knowledge of route driving, and traffic laws.
- Strong math skills for handling pricing calculations and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices consistently
- Retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and documentation effectively
- Military experience involving logistics or transportation is highly valued
- Basic knowledge of pricing strategies and upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities
