Diesel Mechanic – Family-Owned Waste & Recycling Company
We are a family-owned and operated trash company that has proudly served our community for over 50 years. We’re looking for a dependable, skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and help keep our fleet running safely and efficiently.
Position Overview
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of refuse trucks and related equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality work and values being part of a close-knit, long-standing company.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards
- Communicate effectively with management and drivers regarding vehicle conditions
Qualifications
- Previous diesel mechanic experience (trash/refuse truck experience a plus)
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, but not required)
