The HR Benefits & Payroll Associate supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, with a focus on payroll processing and benefits administration. This role partners closely with HR leadership to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of compensation and benefits programs while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Support bi-weekly payroll by reviewing data for accuracy, verifying benefit deductions and employee changes, and helping resolve discrepancies prior to submission.
- Administer and process benefits-related activities including enrollments, changes, COBRA, retirement plans, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Maintain and update employee records, HRIS data, reports, and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and HR procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and process improvements related to payroll and Total Rewards programs.
- Support planning and execution of HR initiatives such as open enrollment, employee communications, health fairs, and company events.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, compensation data, and HR records.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in human resources, payroll, benefits, or administrative support (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with HRIS or payroll systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or UKG.
- Exposure to benefits administration or open enrollment processes.
- Basic knowledge of HR compliance (FLSA, COBRA, etc.).
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
