The Role
We're looking for a sharp, floor-ready Assistant Store Manager to join our leadership team and help drive daily operations across our busy dispensary. You'll work closely with our Retail Sales Manager and General Manager to keep the floor running smoothly, develop and hold our budtender team accountable, and ensure every customer leaves happy.
This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on the floor, not behind a desk. We operate on a rotating schedule, and you should be comfortable owning a shift from open to close.
What You'll Do

Lead daily floor operations during your shift, serving as the manager on duty

Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of budtenders to hit sales targets and deliver excellent customer experiences

Monitor basket sizes, transaction pace, and floor traffic — and make real-time adjustments

Enforce discount and promotional guidelines and flag discrepancies to management

Support budtender training, onboarding, and performance accountability

Ensure compliance with all New York State cannabis regulations, including ID verification protocols

Assist with opening and closing procedures, register reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting

Communicate shift recaps and notable issues to the management team

Serve as a point of escalation for customer concerns on the floor

Coordinate with the Retail Sales Manager on scheduling, staffing coverage, and operational priorities
What We're Looking For

2+ years of retail management or supervisory experience (cannabis retail preferred; strong candidates from other fast-paced retail environments welcome)

Proven ability to lead a team on a busy retail floor and hold people accountable with professionalism

Comfortable working with POS systems and basic sales data — we use Treez

Familiarity with New York State cannabis regulations and compliance requirements is a plus

Strong communication skills — clear and direct with staff, warm and knowledgeable with customers

Reliable, punctual, and able to work a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends
