Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support our accounting team with day-to-day accounts payable and related administrative functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, long-term position in a stable, family-owned business. There is an opportunity for full-time employment for those with a Bookeeping background. Current or previous Bookkeepers are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Prepare and process weekly check and ACH payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records
- Assist with credit card reconciliations and expense coding
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and payment inquiries
- Support month-end closing activities as needed
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years of accounts payable experience
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and accounting software
- Experience in a small business environment is a plus
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
Schedule
- Part-Time
- 4-6 hours per day
- 3-5 days per week
- Morning hours preferred
- In-person position based in Cranston, RI
