RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan lessons, keep records of grades, correspond with parents, etc.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
- Provide instruction that is inclusive of the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
- Support structured literacy classroom practices
- Provide intervention to small groups of students in grades first through fifth
- Provide reading evaluations for students who demonstrate the need for extra support services
- Provide individual remediation in reading in conjunction with IEP Reading and Language Arts goals
- Assist in coordinating and administering annual achievement and diagnostic testing
- Participate actively as a member of the building leadership team
- Provide consultation to classroom and support staff as needed
- Participate in school district Annual Review meetings
- Has the ability to interpret/utilize data to make informed instructional decisions
Job Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification in Reading and/or Literacy
