Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and attentive Server to join our small business. We are looking for a flexible employee looking for 1-2 days along with being able to fill. In this role, you will be the friendly face that enhances our guests’ dining experience by providing exceptional service, expert food and beverage recommendations, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will contribute to creating memorable moments for our guests while maintaining efficient restaurant operations. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and promptly upon arrival, establishing a positive first impression.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Clover ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- Upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities while providing personalized recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Clear tables, bus tables as needed, and assist with general restaurant cleanliness to uphold sanitation standards.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, handling cash handling responsibilities with integrity and basic math skills.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting food safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with opening or closing duties, including setting up stations and restocking supplies for smooth service flow.
- Support other team members such as host/hostess or bussers during busy periods to ensure seamless service.
Experience
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or breakfast setting
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence.
- Experience in serving, bussing, or host/hostess roles demonstrates a solid foundation in food industry standards.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for cashiering and cash handling responsibilities are required.
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is valued highly.
