General Description of Position
Under the general direction and supervision of the Superintendent, Physical Plant, the Maintenance Assistant – PTT will have responsibilities for a variety of general maintenance areas, including but not limited to repairs, painting, facility construction, equipment moving, and grounds work, including mowing. This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal position.
Essential Functions
- Aid in general building/facilities maintenance.
- Moving Furniture – Move furniture/equipment within facilities, as well as to and from storage areas, and keep records of items being moved. These items include but are not limited to tables, chairs, file cabinets, desks, lockers, instructional equipment, and office equipment.
- (Seasonal) Care and Upkeep of Lawns by mowing, trimming, raking, fertilizing, spraying, and watering lawns.
- Climbs ladders to perform tasks such as changing light bulbs and gaining access to equipment and roofs.
- Keeps the grounds clean from litter and trash
- Pick up or deliver supplies and deliveries throughout the campus as needed.
- Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
- Ensures the proper maintenance of tools and equipment by cleaning and checking them after use.
