Summary of the role
The primary function of the Assembler is to perform mechanical assembly, installation, and wiring of components on a wide variety of equipment designed and built in State College, PA. While soldering skills are an asset, we are willing to provide training in this area.
Tasks of the role
- Read and interpret engineering/production drawings and schematics.
- Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies.
- Solder and assemble various electronic components, wires, and mechanical parts.
- Assemble RF/Microwave electrical products and perform “tester” functions.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a digital multimeter.
- Ensure quality through inspections of your own work and that of others, in accordance with standards.
- Rework products using engineering instructions.
- Install and wire mechanical components per design.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Work hours as necessary to support Company demand.
- Train and assist others as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Electronics or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in assembly, particularly in the installation and wiring of mechanical components.
- Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
- Soldering skills are an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Exceptional work ethic, a can-do attitude, and a strong team player.
- Willing and able to learn, understand, and support the Company s quality objectives
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction or supervision, and effectively plan, organize, and execute own activities.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of material unassisted.
- Flexible and adaptable by nature; able to work well under pressure and within changing environments.
- Willing to cross-train as needed.
Shift available
Day- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts. Weekends or weekday overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
