JOB SUMMARY
The Spray/Installation Technician is based at the Leonard Jasper, GA sales lot, with operations in the U.S., and has overall responsibility for applying spray-in bed liners and installing a wide range of aftermarket automotive parts and accessories on trucks and commercial vehicles. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and does not have direct reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares vehicle surfaces for spray-in bed-liner application, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and protecting surrounding vehicle surfaces.
- Mixes, applies, and finishes spray-in bed-liner materials according to manufacturer specifications and Company quality standards.
- Inspects completed spray applications for consistent coverage, proper adhesion, appearance, and overall workmanship.
- Cleans and maintains spray equipment, tools, work areas, and personal protective equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable safety requirements.
- Handles, stores, and disposes of coatings, solvents, and other materials in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety guidelines.
- Installs aftermarket automotive parts and accessories on customers' vehicles according to specifications and instructions, including, but not limited to, running boards, tonneau covers, trailer hitches, grille guards, toolboxes, lighting, wheels, tires, and other truck accessories.
- Conducts pre- and post-installation quality checks to ensure proper fit, finish, and functioning.
- Mounts and balances wheels and tires and performs alignments as needed.
- Installs lighting systems, such as LED light bars or auxiliary lighting, for improved visibility.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to the installation of truck parts and accessories.
- Connects and wires electronic components, such as backup cameras, GPS systems, and alarm systems.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical issues and performs repairs as necessary.
- Fabricates custom parts and brackets when necessary for unique installations.
- Collaborates with the team to meet installation deadlines.
- Assists other Leonard retail locations with installation, service, or operational support activities as needed to meet business demands and customer needs.
- Travels to other Company locations within a reasonable distance of the assigned work location to provide installation, service, and operational support as needed.
- Modifies and customizes vehicles according to customer preferences and specifications.
- Provides excellent customer service by offering advice and recommendations regarding accessory selection and installation options.
- Maintains legible and accurate paperwork for customer and Company records, including parts used, labor hours, and any special instructions.
- Completes accurate work orders and invoices for customers.
- Stays current with the latest installation and spray-application techniques and trends.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment by keeping the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Follows all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Operates vehicles safely during the testing and installation process.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of an applicable apprenticeship preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Previous experience applying spray-in bed liners, automotive coatings, industrial coatings, or similar materials required.
- Previous experience installing aftermarket automotive parts and accessories preferred.
- Automotive paint, bodywork, surface-preparation, or refinishing experience preferred.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

TRAVEL
This position is primarily based at the employee's assigned retail location. However, occasional travel to other Company locations may be required to support business operations, customer service needs, training, or workload balancing. Employees may be expected to assist at other Company locations within a reasonable travel distance of their assigned work location.
