The Department of Chemistry at St. Bonaventure University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry, beginning August 2026. Teaching responsibilities could include the General Chemistry sequences, the Organic Chemistry sequences, Analytical sequences, and possibly other courses matching the candidate’s expertise; average twelve (12) contact hours/semester. Other responsibilities include conducting research with undergraduate students, advising students, conducting institutional service, and maintaining professional growth and development. A Ph.D. or ABD in Chemistry will be considered. Applications will be considered on a roll-in basis.
Candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, research, and University service. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college level. Prior research experience at a Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI) is also preferred.
While this position is a 1-year contract, there is the potential for the position to be extended.
