Description:
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff by performing a combination of administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Clinical Duties:

Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and documenting chief complaints

Assist providers during examinations and procedures

Administer injections, medications, as directed by the provider

Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection (e.g., blood draws, urine samples)

Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms

Provide patient education and instructions as directed
Administrative Duties:

Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
-
Verify patient information, insurance, and medical records

Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

Handle phone calls, prescription refills, and patient follow-ups

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations

High school diploma or equivalent required

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Current certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required per state guidelines

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Prior clinical experience in a healthcare setting is a plus

Must have a Medical Assistant Certificate from an acredited program
