SUMMARY: Provides administrative support to the Division of Educational Planning. Assists in the coordination of professional development opportunities and reporting. Communicates professional learning opportunities with districts. Assist in coordination of annual IU in-service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain Professional Development Calendar to reflect current opportunities.
- Maintain ELRNR registration for professional learning opportunities.
- Process course registrations and provide course rosters, as well as evaluation forms for professional learning opportunities.
- Promote and maintain communications for professional learning opportunities (learning links, etc.)
- Manages building guests and catering needs for events held in the BLaST IU17, Williamsport office.
- Function as initial point of contact for employee professional learning opportunities.
- Function as initial point of contact for professional development requests.
- Report Act 48, and other professional development hours as required by law.
- Submit billing to business office for IU hosted and district on-site professional learning offerings.
- Maintain accurate files and records.
- Attend training opportunities if requested by Department director.
- Assist Director in the logistical management of annual IU in-service.
- Greet, welcome, and direct visitors to the IU 17 Williamsport Office. Notify company personnel of visitor arrival.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (buzzing in guests, monitor logbook).
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls.
- Receive, process, and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
- Process postage for out-bound mail.
- Maintain training and conference room calendars by processing reservations.
- Maintain organization wide phone directory.
- Provide clerical support (typing, copying, faxing) to IU staff as needed.
- Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent; one to three years in general office work experience. Must have experience with typing, office machines and computer. Must have experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, online platforms, email, spreadsheets, and file share functions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to operate a computer and related software a must. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all Intermediate Unit requirements and Department of Education policies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs or charts.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee occasionally will stand or walk. Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
