SMG Exchange Student Programs invites your family to open your home and hearts this August to a high school international exchange student—for six weeks or the full academic school year. As a volunteer host family, you and your children—whether young or grown—have a unique opportunity to shape the future through cultural learning and meaningful relationships. This unpaid hosting experience offers your family the chance to learn alongside your guest student, discovering new perspectives, traditions, and ways of thinking together. Who Can Host:
Singles, couples, seniors, and all family types are welcome to apply. Students arrive in August for either a 6-week stay or the full academic year, attending your local public high school. As a host family, you'll provide a safe, welcoming home environment and share everyday life and American traditions. In return, you'll experience the thrill of meaningful cultural friendships that completely transform how your entire family and community sees another part of the world—turning strangers into lifelong friends and opening eyes to new perspectives right in your own home.
Our Exchange Students:
Select your exchange student from a portfolio of bright, independent teens
representing over 40 countries—each with unique passions and cultural treasures
to share. Every student is carefully screened and arrives fully prepared with health insurance and personal funds. They're eager to teach your kids their language, cook traditional dishes, share their music and customs, and become a genuine part of your daily life.
