Monona County Iron is a millwright fabrication to installation metal contractor that works throughout the Midwest. We’re looking for a hands-on Millwright Foreman with the ability to lead a good crew, keep jobs moving, and take ownership of the entire project’s outcome.
This role is designed for a leader who can manage a crew, stay organized with multiple moving parts, and communicate effectively with both the team and the customer. You will be active in the field, working alongside your crew, solving real-time problems, and ensuring high-quality results. Reliability, level-headedness, and consistency are essential, as you will be empowered to make decisions and support your team without constant supervision.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage crews of 3–8 on active industrial job sites.
- Lead by example - work ethic, communication and quality of work.
- Oversee installs, demos, repairs, and maintenance onsite.
- Coordinate daily work schedules between the field, the office, and customer contacts.
- Review drawings and technical documents to ensure project accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues to maintain project momentum and meet deadlines.
- Operate equipment - telehandlers, forklifts, etc.
- Maintain safety protocols on the job.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous leadership experience as a foreman or lead, with a background in millwright work, fabrication, or industrial installation. Minimum of 4 years of millwright experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and proficiency in welding, fabrication and installation.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both crews and customers.
- Adaptability: Willingness to step in wherever needed to ensure project success and a flexible schedule for potential over-the-road work.
- Preferred: Experience with CAD or technical drawings
- Flexibility: Must be able to work a flexible schedule to work over the road. We stay as local as possible but there will be times that may require extended time away from home.
