Position Overview:
The 2nd Shift Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse. This role involves receiving and stocking merchandise, managing inventory, and preparing orders for shipment while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. The worker will safely operate equipment, such as forklifts and pickers, and collaborate effectively with team members to provide a seamless workflow.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Receive and accurately stock merchandise.
- Maintain inventory of all products entering and exiting the warehouse.
- Prepare orders for shipment with attention to detail.
- Handle all merchandise with appropriate care and responsibility.
- Utilize the company’s Scanner System effectively for inventory management.
- Operate a forklift and picker safely; forklift certification is a plus (the company will provide certification).
- Collaborate effectively as a team player.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks associated with the warehouse process, including:
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects such as tires over 50 pounds, sometimes up to 100 pounds. Handling and rolling these tires often requires team lifting or mechanical aid. Operating industrial equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is essential for safely moving heavy materials. Workers also stand and walk on hard surfaces for long periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as reaching overhead and below the knees.
- Climbing up and down ladders or on/off forklifts repeatedly during a shift.
- Working at heights, including operating equipment like order pickers over 25 feet.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception, are necessary for tasks like operating equipment and handling tires.
- Work occurs in a warehouse with exposure to weather, temperature changes, noise, fumes, dust, and moving equipment.
Requirements & Skills:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; medically cleared to drive.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear proper footwear (closed-toed shoes; steel-toe shoes are highly recommended).
- Previous experience working in a warehouse facility is preferred but not required.
