Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and bilingual Dental Biller & Front Office Coordinator to join our team. This dual-role position requires strong knowledge of dental billing and insurance processes, as well as excellent front office and patient communication skills. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate, with at least 2 years of dental office experience.
Fluency in Spanish is required to support our diverse patient community.
Key Responsibilities
Dental Billing & Insurance
- Accurately process, review, and submit dental claims to primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance providers.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Post payments from insurance companies and patients, reconciling EFT and checks daily.
- Research and resolve claim denials, re-file appeals, and follow up with insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate patient accounts, including balances, statements, and prior authorizations.
- Generate and review monthly dental claim reports.
Front Office & Patient Coordination
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, optimizing provider schedules.
- Present and explain treatment plans, procedures, costs, and payment options.
- Follow up with patients regarding pending treatments, recalls, and post-visit care.
- Answer phones, emails, and patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with financial arrangements, payment collections, and patient account accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
Team Support
- Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, and assistants to coordinate patient care.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Assist in administrative tasks and support practice operations as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of 2 years dental office experience (billing and/or front office).
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance, billing, and patient coordination.
- Fluency in Spanish (required).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Open Dental or other dental software preferred.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- Some travel between local offices (up to 25%)
