What You Will Do
- Lead the floor: Directly supervise 5+ electro-mechanical assemblers, including hiring, training, planning, and directing the workforce.
- Schedule the build: Plan electrical assembly work based on machine line balance and keep production tracking visuals current.
- Troubleshoot live: Support assemblers in diagnosing and resolving electrical technical issues in assigned production areas.
- Drive quality and LEAN: Monitor quality checks, implement corrective actions, run 5S audits, and lead continuous improvement Kaizen activities.
- Develop people: Coach direct reports, deliver technical training, and conduct timely performance appraisals.
What You Bring
- Schematics fluency: Excellent understanding of assembly drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
- Panel building: Deep hands-on control panel building experience.
- LEAN mindset: Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Leadership: Strong cross-functional teamwork, coaching, and collaborative decision making.
- License: Valid Illinois driver's license required; electrical licensing is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in electro-mechanical technology; High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5-10+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or general labor.
- 5-10+ years of hands-on electrical control panel building.
- 5-10+ years with power and hand tools, fabrication machinery, and pneumatic tools.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead/gantry cranes) preferred.
