Job Title: General Manager
Reporting to: VP of Operations
Position Summary
The General Manager will oversee all operations of their location. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic and daily operations of the location leading a staff of 40+ on a daily basis to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests and at the same time you will be manufacturing thousands of tons of slime every year. You will lead the daily operation and management of location, creating an inclusive culture and a warm welcome for our guests, volunteers, and staff.
The General Manager will be confident in managing people, projects and budgets, and will know when to delegate and when to take ownership. They will bring a positive and empowering attitude to the team, and their motivating approach will ensure delivery to a high standard across the site. They will be able to work with a range of different stakeholders and demonstrate flexibility and a proactive and diplomatic approach to problem-solving. The General Manager will take the lead on the planning and delivery of work streams, ensuring that the VP of Operations is kept informed and involved in key decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Full P&L responsibility.
- Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budget, forecast and profitability.
- Manage floor manager, production, retail store manager, and staff.
- Manage procurement and inventory.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure staff are following all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain brand integrity throughout the experience.
- Operate multi-million-dollar retail store, develop planograms, manage promotions, signage, product placement, etc.
- Provide leadership and line management to the team, ensuring that resourcing is planned for new developments, and staffing is managed across the site.
- Support all operational departments to regularly review their working practices and seek improvements to reduce the likelihood of accidents.
- Maximize guest admissions income from the forecast and work with the senior management team, setting future forecasts and budgets.
- Control Labor spend to ensure we are hitting and exceeding targets.
- Provide a world class guest experience as evidenced by positive survey results.
- Provide an engaging and rewarding workplace for all employees with a competitive retention rate and proven promotion.
- Meet (and exceed) projected guest count and projections.
- Creation and implementation of improvements for guest satisfaction, employee experience and revenue growth.
- Data Driven - use data to drive your decision making for sales and production.
- Complete accident/incident report with documented follow through and resolution for each accident/incident within 24 hours of the incident.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
- Experience in operational management within a guest-facing operation.
- Budgetary and line management experience (essential).
- Ability to prioritize the needs of the different departments.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly and approachable manner with staff from across the organization, ensuring good working relationships.
- Ability to engage with colleagues in a diplomatic manner.
- Energetic, perceptive, confident problem solver with a good sense of humor.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
