Lead Technician
Independent Glass Company – Chattanooga, TN
Independent Glass Company is seeking an experienced Lead Technician to join our installation team. This position is ideal for a skilled installer who enjoys leading by example, taking ownership of projects, and helping develop less experienced technicians.
The Lead Technician is responsible for the successful execution of assigned installation projects. This role focuses on jobsite leadership, quality workmanship, customer communication, and efficient execution of the installation process.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily installation activities and direct Technicians on assigned projects
- Install frameless shower enclosures, custom mirrors, glass railings, insulated glass units, storefront systems, and other glazing products
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
- Verify materials, tools, and equipment are ready before departing for jobs
- Communicate with customers regarding arrival times, delays, and job progress
- Complete daily reports and required job documentation
- Train and coach Technicians on installation techniques and company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
What We're Looking For
- Previous glass installation experience required
- Leadership experience preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Ability to interpret fractions accurately
- Ability to use and read a spirit level
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Ability to climb ladders and work overhead
- Ability to carry materials up and down stairs
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions

Pay based on experience.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:
- Glass : 1 year (Preferred)
- Construction: 3 years (Required)
- Crew Leading : 2 years (Preferred)
