About us
Costa Custom Boats is a growing custom boat manufacturing company. We are expanding and looking for qualified individuals to join our team to build one of the best performing center console catamarans on the market.
LAMINATION:
Working with fiberglass, resin, and other materials, build Hulls, Decks, Liners, and other composite parts meeting high quality standards and weekly production goals. Inspect and clean molds before beginning work
ASSEMBLY:
Joining of fiberglass components through adhesive and mechanical means - joining of hull / deck / cap, mounting of consoles / leaning posts, etc. Assemble parts onto the boat based on the production order. Application of sealant and caulk. Installation and attachment of hardware and components such as fuel tanks, thru hulls, plumbing hoses, bow rails, cleats, and rod holders
FINISHING:
Ability to grind, sand, clean, or polish fiberglass parts to fix defects. Finish imperfections or defects in fiberglass hulls, decks and small parts by identifying defects in the fiberglass. Finish gel coat blemishes and defects with the use of buffers, DA sanders, spray guns, finishing spray and wet/dry sanding. Limited experience of finishing raw glass on small parts, fiberglass repairs or reshaping, and non-skid repairs. Ability to select abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces. Ability and experience in painting repaired surfaces
RIGGING:
"Proficient at effectively and efficiently installing interior and exterior parts of boats to hulls, decks, consoles, leaning posts, and hardtops - including engine, electrical, plumbing, and hardware. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor. Must be mechanically inclined and experienced in use of basic hand tools, air tools and electric power tools."
Ideal candidates will possess experience with the following:
- Fiberglass chopper guns and gel coat guns
- Fiberglass construction using open and closed mold techniques
- Wet out equipment and hand layup process
- Infusion (Vacuum Bagging and Infusion)
- Battery powered and air tools
- Ability to use small tools, operating air/hand tools, saws, drills and grinders
- Ability to work as a team member and take direction from supervisor
- Self-motivated
- Clear Communicator
- Dependable
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
· Requires lifting, standing, kneeling, bending - getting in and out of boats
Work Environment
· Operates in a manufacturing plant environment and requires exposure to chemicals such as gel coat, acetone, etc
· This role routinely wears protective clothing and masks
· Requires ability to work in high temperatures during the summer months along with increased humidity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $23.00 per hour
