Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dozer/Excavator Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders to perform a variety of construction and utility work tasks. Your expertise will ensure efficient site preparation, excavation, grading, and utility installation while adhering to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects that shape communities and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy construction machinery including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks with precision and safety awareness.
- Perform excavation tasks for foundations, utilities, grading, and site leveling in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety procedures.
- Assist with construction utility work such as utility locating to prevent damage during excavation activities.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support construction grading efforts to achieve accurate elevation and slope requirements for paving and other finishing work.
- Operate horizontal drilling equipment when necessary for utility installation projects.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as dozers (Caterpillar preferred), excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, in a construction setting.
- Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and safety procedures aligned with federal construction safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility work efficiently on active construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating techniques and horizontal drilling methods.
- Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and routine maintenance is a plus.
- Prior experience working in construction site environments with an emphasis on safety regulations and equipment operation standards.
Night and Day shift. Pay rate is 18.00 depending on experience. If work nights $2 dollar more. Work schedule: Mon.-Sat. day; Sun.-Fri. nights. 9-11hour shifts
