Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across diverse settings, including industrial and commercial environments. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial facilities using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring work safely following NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association code) standards and electrical safety procedures.
- Maintain industrial motor control equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor starters, relays, contactors, and other control devices to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify faults or issues within complex electrical systems using troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
- Install and maintain low voltage and high voltage electrical systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements and local building codes.
- Support construction projects by installing electrical infrastructure on-site while adhering to construction schedules and safety protocols.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance on machinery, industrial motors, and building systems to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Document all work performed through detailed reports, logs, and compliance records to ensure transparency and accountability.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Hands-on experience working with high-voltage wiring up to 600 volts or more in industrial settings.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, electrical building codes, and safety procedures related to electrical work.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; testing instruments like voltmeters, ammeters; as well as specialized diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience working on construction sites or large-scale industrial facilities with an emphasis on safety compliance.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control , low voltage systems, and industrial motor maintenance is highly desirable.
