Renew DPF is growing, and we're looking for a dependable Part-Time Shop Assistant / Mechanic Helper to join our team in Monticello, MN.
You don't need to be a master mechanic to apply. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and enjoys working with trucks, equipment, and tools. We are willing to train the right person on the job.
You will work alongside our technicians helping with a variety of shop and mobile service work.
What You'll Do
- Help our technicians with diesel truck and equipment repairs
- Assist with removing and installing DPF, DOC, and SCR systems
- Help clean and inspect diesel aftertreatment components
- Assist with general maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment
- Help with oil changes, filters, brakes, hoses, and other basic repairs
- Help keep the shop, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Load and unload parts and equipment
- Assist with mobile service calls when needed
- Learn diesel repair and aftertreatment systems while working alongside experienced technicians
- Perform other shop duties as needed
This is more than an aftertreatment position. You will have the opportunity to learn and assist with all types of heavy-duty diesel repair and maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Mechanically inclined and enjoys working with their hands
- Some mechanical experience is preferred, but not required
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Dependable and shows up ready to work
- Able to use basic hand tools
- Comfortable working around trucks, heavy equipment, and diesel engines
- Good attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Ability to work independently when given a task
- Valid driver's license
Schedule
This is a part-time position with a typical work schedule of:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
No weekends.
