American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to both scrub and circulate across multiple service lines.

Fast-paced hospital OR environment operating across multiple campuses, including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
-
16-suite OR with 12-14 rooms running routinely; Level I Trauma Center with reserved trauma space
-
Service lines include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Ortho (primarily trauma), Robotics, GYN, URO, General, Pediatrics, Transplants, and limited ENT and Plastics
-
Patient ratio of 1:1 with an average of 35-50 cases per day; turnover expectation is under 20 minutes

Both scrubbing and circulating are required, with scrub experience highly preferred
-
Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma

Epic EMR — experience within the previous 3 years is required

Schedule is Mon–Fri, 6:30a–5:00p, 4x10s with a rotating day off
-
On-call requirement of up to 1 overnight per week and up to 3 weekends per 13-week contract

Weekend call coverage runs from Friday at 5:00p through Monday at 6:30a

Holiday rotation required; travelers must work 1–2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day

Floating required across all campuses

Active IA RN license or Compact/Multi-state RN license required

BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)

Minimum 24 months of recent OR experience required; hospital/medical center experience is prioritized

OR circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred

Experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required

Experience in Neurology, Ortho (trauma), GYN, URO, Transplants, Plastics, and ENT highly preferred

Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience highly preferred

Epic EMR experience within the previous 3 years required

Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the last 15 months — first-time travelers will not be considered

Driver's license required for consideration

Scrubs are provided

Candidates who were employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration

A supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years is preferred for consideration
