Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a School Bus Aide. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the bus driver in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation. This is a full-time position located at our Transportation department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the school bus
- Help students get on and off the bus safely
- Monitor student behavior and intervene when necessary to maintain order and safety
- Ensure that students are properly seated and wearing seat belts
- Communicate with parents and school officials as needed regarding student behavior or other concerns
- Assist with the maintenance of the school bus, including cleaning and fueling
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols established by the school district and transportation department
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school officials
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass a background check and drug test
