OP Group Facilitator & Counselor
Choose Your Horizon is enabling affordable access to modern mental healthcare and addiction services across the US. We have treated over 10,000 patients across 50 states through our telehealth and addiction treatment platforms. We are building towards becoming the North American leader in integrative telehealth psychiatry, combining evidence-based medication-assisted protocols with stigma-free telehealth care.
As we prepare to launch our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Texas, we are seeking experienced clinicians to join our team of medical professionals to shape and grow the IOP program.
The Role:
This is a contractor position, initially part-time, with a clear path to full-time as the program scales across Texas and into additional states. You will be a core member of the clinical team from pre-launch preparation through ongoing delivery of the IOP program.
The anticipated time commitment is approximately 16–21 hours per week post-launch, with a light pre-launch commitment of 2–3 hours per week from early June through July/August. Session scheduling will be agreed upon before launch, aligned with patient preferences and attendance patterns.
Our goal is to grow the program to multiple groups in Texas and then into additional states, creating full-time opportunities for the clinical team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead three weekly IOP group therapy sessions (3 hours each), delivering evidence-based curriculum for addiction recovery and/or mental health treatment.
- Provide individual counselling sessions for enrolled patients, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing progress monitoring.
- Foster a safe, therapeutic environment for group and individual work, managing group dynamics and escalating risk as needed.
- Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate closely with physicians, prescribers, and clinical staff.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EHR following each session.
- Complete pre-launch training on the CYH curriculum and EHR platform, and contribute to ongoing program development as the program scales.
Requirements:
- Active Texas licensure as an LPC, LPCA, LCSW, LMFT, LCDC, LCDC-I, or equivalent clinical credential; supervisor-level licensure (LPCS, LCWS-S) is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating group therapy sessions, ideally within an IOP or similar structured treatment setting.
- Background in substance use disorder (SUD), addiction medicine, mental health, or dual diagnosis treatment.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and a commitment to timely, accurate clinical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving processes and a collaborative, build-as-you-go mindset.
- Telehealth and/or virtual care experience preferred.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly or weekly rate, commensurate with licensure level and experience. Discussed individually. This is a contract position with strong potential to convert to full-time employment as the program scales. We believe in building lasting careers for great clinicians, not just filling shifts.
