Cashier / Stock Associate (Wine, Beer & Liquor Store)

Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused Cashier / Stock Associate to join our team. This position involves assisting customers, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring products are properly displayed. Previous retail or liquor store experience is a plus but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) applicants are preferred to better serve our diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit, debit, EBT (if applicable), and other payments.
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol sales laws.
- Stock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, snacks, and other merchandise.
- Receive, unload, and organize deliveries.
- Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) and monitor product freshness where applicable.
- Keep shelves fully stocked, faced, and organized.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low-stock items to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor, cooler, and stockroom.
- Help customers locate products and answer questions about merchandise.
- Place price labels and promotional signage as directed.
- Report damaged merchandise or safety concerns promptly.
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail, grocery, convenience store, or liquor store experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Honest, reliable, and punctual.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- English required; Spanish-speaking applicants are preferred.
Schedule
- Full-time and Part-time positions available.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is preferred.
