Job Overview
Vintage Grape Wines & Spirits is looking for a versatile, proactive Retail Cashier and Wine & Spirits Associate to join our team.
In this role, you will be the backbone of daily store operations—combining front-of-house customer hospitality with back-of-house inventory flow. The ideal hire is someone who moves fast, communicates clearly with Customer and management, enjoys talking to shoppers about wine and spirits, and takes pride in keeping the shop fully stocked and organized.
Core Responsibilities
- POS Checkout & Cash Handling: Manage cash and card transactions efficiently, process returns, and maintain an organized, welcoming checkout counter.
- Customer Consultation & Floor Sales: Greet incoming guests, offer personalized bottle and food-pairing recommendations, and assist shoppers in discovering new wines and spirits.
- Phone & Online Order Fulfillment: Take customer orders and inquiries over the phone, pick and pack digital orders accurately, and stage items safely for pickup or delivery.
- Inventory Replenishment & Floor Merchandising: Continuously restock bottles, build promotional displays, face shelves, and keep the sales floor pristine.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or stock management preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations required
- Demonstrated experience in retail, customer service, or restaurant hospitality (cash handling required).
- Genuine interest in wine, craft spirits, and beverage culture (prior industry experience is a plus, but curiosity and coachability matter most).
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stack 40+ lb cases repeatedly throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Excellent communication skills, punctual habits, and strong multitasking ability during busy rushes.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
