Local small engine repair company looking for a skilled small engine mechanic.
We work on lawn mowers, riding mowers, zero turns, snow blowers, generators, weed eaters, chainsaws, tillers, etc.
Each mechanic is responsible for their own tool setup but it does not have to be an expensive setup
Will help the right skilled candidate source/finance tools if needed - MUST HAVE THE MECHANICAL SKILLS
Tools are required for this position
Some larger shop tools are provided but most are the responsibility of each mechanic to have individually
Great customer service skills are required to communicate with customers when we estimate or repair
Computer skills and parts diagram experience for ordering is very helpful
We use Quickbooks for entering invoices and tracking inventory
A normal day would involves estimating and repairing equipment mostly but checking in or helping unload/load equipment and assisting customers will happen on really busy days (especially during the spring/summer)
We do not operate like a typical repair shop where you wait for someone to pull parts for you. Each mechanic is responsible to look up and order/pull their own parts
We use lifts and machinery to move most items but some lifting is required, must have the ability to lift 40lbs.
Front office, delivery driver, mechanic and shop manager positions all work closely together and will be cross trained on different areas in case we need to fill in for one another if needed. We are a small business so this does happen at some points
We are a fast paced environment. The shop environment is hot/cold depending on the weather (heat but in/out often, no air) so candidate will need to dress accordingly and be able to withstand both extremes
Answering phone calls, booking pick up/deliveries, looking up/ordering part's, creating invoices, receiving inventory/bills into Quickbooks, assisting customers, helping load/unload customer equipment and doing general office/shop work as needed to help others
Being able to fill in and learning more duties makes you more valuable to us and your work will be recognized
Great teamwork is a must and will be working closely with others to make repairs of customers equipment smooth and easy
Fast paced environment with pay depending on experience and work ethic

There is much room for moving up in position in pay and title but mechanic skills are required

No nights or weekends required and ability for overtime seasonally if wanted

We work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
