The Athletics Department at Saint Michael’s College invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Athletics. The College seeks a highly organized and collaborative professional to oversee the operational and administrative functions that support Saint Michael’s varsity athletic programs. This role supervises administrative personnel, manages day-to-day operations, and works closely with coaches to support the needs of their programs and ensure they have the resources necessary for success.
Responsibilities include processing deposits and payment requests, ordering equipment and supplies, and maintaining efficient administrative processes. The successful candidate will also coordinate student-athlete events and initiatives designed to enhance the overall student-athlete experience and foster a positive athletic environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Contribute to the short and long-term strategic planning of the Athletics Department and assist the Director of Athletics with decisions regarding facilities, equipment, personnel, and programs.
· Directly oversee approximately seven varsity sports programs, including scheduling, monitoring, development, evaluation, and attendance at home contests.
· Hire, mentor, supervise, and evaluate Head Coaches and assigned athletic administrative personnel.
· Manage home game operations, including scheduling and supervising event managers, student workers, and game-day staff.
· Administer departmental operating budgets, oversee select capital projects, and support coaches in managing program, fundraising, meal money, and gift budgets.
· Reconcile gate receipts, fundraising deposits, and purchasing card transactions while ensuring accurate financial reporting and expense allocation.
· Serve as the primary liaison to the Fundraising and Advancement Office and assist with grant-writing initiatives.
· Collaborate with the College Controller to prepare and submit the annual EADA Report and NCAA Membership Financial Report.
· Manage student-athlete assessments, including end-of-season evaluations, and oversee events and registrations within the ARMS database.
· Direct the Saint Michael’s Summer Camp Program, including supervision of Camp Directors and hiring of temporary camp and athletic training staff.
· Coordinate the hiring, scheduling, and payment processes for game officials, including management of schedule changes and vendor registration requirements.
· Lead student-athlete engagement initiatives, including First-Year Student-Athlete Orientation, diversity and inclusion programming, and Title IX education and awareness efforts.
· Promote inclusion, belonging, gender equity, and Title IX compliance through advocacy, education, and participation in professional development opportunities.
· Serve on departmental, institutional, conference, and NCAA committees; pursue leadership opportunities; and assist with departmental hiring processes.
· Support the planning, coordination, and execution of departmental and student-athlete programs, activities, and special events.

Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
· 5-10 years of relevant experience
· Comfortable using a computer for a variety of functions
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
· Must meet driver’s eligibility requirements as stated in the Saint Michael's College Vehicle Use Policy
