Magro and Sons Steel of NJ is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to join our team.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable working with plans, measurements, pricing, labor hours, and project documentation. Prior experience in steel estimating is required. This is a part-time position consisting of approximately 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing drawings, plans, and project specifications
- Preparing takeoffs for structural steel projects
- Calculating material quantities, labor requirements, and estimated man-hours for projects
- Preparing estimates, quotes, and bid documents
- Communicating with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and internal staff
- Tracking pricing, material costs, labor costs, and project details
- Assisting with follow-ups on submitted bids
- Maintaining organized records of estimates and job files
Qualifications
- Structural steel, construction, welding, fabrication, or estimating experience is required
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Ability to calculate material quantities, labor hours, and project man-hours
- Strong attention to detail
- Good math, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and professional
Compensation The compensation for this position is based on experience and will be discussed during the interview process

- Monday through Friday schedule

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
