Duties
- Install, and assemble, commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ductwork, refrigerant piping, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and system layout.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, including plumbing connections, refrigeration components, and mechanical parts.
- Operate specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for system fabrication or repairs.
- Diagnose system issues using mechanical knowledge and field service techniques; perform appliance repair when necessary.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations related to ammonia refrigeration and HVAC/R systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, schematics updates, and maintenance logs.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience
- Proven experience in construction or service technician roles within the HVAC or refrigeration industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and property maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and technical manuals.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a <PERSON> driver is a plus.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles, air conditioning units, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field on diverse projects.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, welding, and working in confined spaces.
