Full-Time Housekeeper – Nursing Home
Cedar Crest Nursing Centre is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for our residents, employees, and visitors.
Position Details
Full-time position
Shift: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Every other weekend is required
Holiday availability may be required
Responsibilities
- Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, offices, and other assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces
- Empty trash and properly dispose of waste
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and frequently touched surfaces
- Change bed linens and assist with laundry duties when needed
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report when supplies are running low
- Follow infection-control, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and appropriately
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to a supervisor
- Respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal belongings
- Complete assigned cleaning duties in a timely and thorough manner
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or healthcare experience is preferred but not required
- Nursing home, assisted living, hospital, or healthcare cleaning experience is a plus
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must be able to communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift
- Must be available to work every other weekend
- Must be committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
