Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with experience working with various breeds and temperaments. This role involves ensuring pets are groomed to meet client expectations while maintaining safety and comfort for all animals.
Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping in accordance with client specifications.
- Handle animals safely and gently, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure their well-being during grooming procedures.
- Assess each pet’s coat, skin, and overall health to identify any abnormalities or concerns that may require veterinary attention.
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, special instructions, and aftercare recommendations.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling or restraint when necessary during grooming or medical procedures.
- Keep detailed records of grooming services provided and any observations related to the pet’s health or behavior.
Skills
- Proficiency in pet grooming techniques for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Knowledge of dog training principles and dog handling skills to manage various temperaments safely.
- Experience working with veterinary professionals, including veterinary technicians or assistants, is highly desirable.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals humanely and effectively.
- Familiarity with pet care practices, including pet sitting, animal restraint, and basic animal health assessment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as tubs of water or grooming equipment safely and efficiently.
